Kudos to the Essex and Saybrook Fireboats for their rapid response to a boat fire in Essex Harbor. Without their rapid response the vessel probably would have burned to the waterline and sunk in the channel. This could have caused serious environmental impact. If the vessel sunk gasoline and oil would have leaked into the harbor until the vessel could have been raised to the surface.
Great job by both fire departments and their volunteer crews.
Sea Tow Central Connecticut

This boat was obviously not in good shape when we arrived on scene. Fortunately we were able to get it before it capsized.
Strong southwest winds causes several moored boats this past week to drag their moorings. Unfortunately this Sea Doo was a victim. The entire bottom of the boat was missing as well as a good portion of the port stern quarter.
